Modern braces are designed to be smaller lighter and more comfortable than they were in the past making them a more comfortable and discrete form of orthodontic treatment.
Treatment time can vary widely from patient to patient it will depend on the severity of your condition and can take anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, although most commonly it takes 18-24 months. With the advancement in the orthodontic field there are several braces options that generates great results. Few people are lucky enough to be born with perfect teeth, but orthodontic treatment can give beautiful results.
Made from high quality strong stainless steel. Typically brackets are mounted to the front of the teeth together with the springy arch wire running through the brackets to guide the teeth into position. This option can treat any orthodontic condition. The brackets are small and more discreet than used to be before.
Ceramic braces work the same way as metal braces .the only difference is that it’s made of ceramic that is the same colour of your teeth and therefore it blends with the teeth, this makes them more discreet.
That said, clear brackets are slightly more fragile and more expensive.
Invisalign uses a different method from braces to move the teeth. Instead of brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are removable and clear. They have to be worn 20-22 hours a day and they fit directly into the Dental Arch and are virtually invisible. You can remove the aligners to eat drink brush your teeth and floss. It is a highly convenient orthodontic treatment.
